In order to keep everyone in the district safe we need to ensure that we continue to learn, develop and improve.
Our Learning Hub provides practitioners and volunteers with advice and information about how to access different types of learning and development activities relating to their area of work or interest.
Multi-agency training helps practitioners and volunteers understand their roles, responsibilities and safeguarding procedures; and creates a shared understanding of assessment and decision making practices. Training can be face to face, online or a combination.
Our Training Offer – we provide access to face to face and online learning to multi-agency practitioners who work with adults, children and families in Bradford.
Working Together to Safeguard Children - The Bradford Partnership provides a range of multi-agency training courses both face to face and via e-learning to meet the needs of professionals and volunteers working with children and young people in the Bradford District.

Bradford District Safeguarding Adults Board offer a variety of multi-agency safeguarding adults training courses which can help people understand how they can safeguard adults.
It is highly recommended that everyone who works with or around adults at risk ensures that their own training is up to date.

The Government provides guidance for schools and colleges on Keeping Children Safe in Education 2021 (PDF). It should be read alongside statutory guidance Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018 (PDF), and departmental advice What to do if you are worried a child is being abused - Advice for Practitioners (PDF).
All schools must have a Designated Safeguarding Lead who is responsible along with the Governing Body for ensuring that the structures supporting safeguarding are in place and that they are reviewed regularly. All schools should have:
- A Designated Safeguarding Lead who is on the leadership/senior management team of the school (most schools also have at least two Deputy DSLs who are trained to the same level as the DSL)
- A Named Safeguarding Governor
- A Named Governor with responsibility for Children in Care
- At Least one Governor trained in Safer Recruitment
- A written Child Protection Policy that staff are aware of and understand
- Child Protection Procedures in line with those of the The Bradford Safeguarding Children’s Partnership
- Staff who have received Child Protection training. (DSL must refresh their DSL training every 2 years and all staff should receive annual safeguarding training and updates)
